As we enter the second month of the New Year much anticipation circles in GAA clubs around the country at this time – your destiny begins here and the season is now focused with the annual Championship draws. Many Gaels hope with expectation for a favourable answer to the notorious question – well, who’d we get??
The wait is finally over as the championship draws for 2014 were made recently and have thrown up some tasty pairings.

Our senior footballers make a return to Senior Championship with a draw against
In the smaller of the leathers, our Hurlers receive the same opposition as the Senior Footballers and have been drew against St.Teresa’s in the quarter final with Sean O’Neill’s Glenarm awaiting the winners in the semi final. Our U21 Hurlers will take on Gortnamona in the Preliminary Round as neighbours Dunloy lay in wait for the winners in the Quarter Final.
The South West draws were also made recently; we will become much acquainted with the Hightown men this season as we host St.Enda’s in no less than three competitions - O'Cahan Cup on the 23rd February, McCormick Cup on the 9th March and Laverty cup on 29th April.
Our Hurlers welcome Con Magees Glenravel on 9th April in the Abbey Cup. In juvenile competition we were drew Dunloy in the Breslin Cup to be played in May, our U14’s were drew against Creggan in both codes of the Feilé, we host the young Kickhams in hurling in April and travel to the Staffordstown Road arena in football early March.
The South West domestic leagues for U12 & U14 get underway on 11th April and the U16 Football Shield starts 3rd April. Finally the All County Minor Football League Division 2B "kicks off” on 1st April.
