New Management appointed at St.Mary’s
9th January 2014

St.Mary’s GAC Rasharkin have installed a new Senior Football manager for 2014, Ballyhegan clubman Peter McKeever takes the reigns of the South West club following their instant return to top flight football. The CBS teacher comes with a decent CV having secured the Intermediate Championship Crown with Glen Road side St.Teresa’s last season and been awarded his Level three Coaching Accreditation. The Cookstown native will be well assisted by two renowned Rasharkin men John McNeill and Ryan McAleese.

The Reserve footballers also gained promotion this season taking the journey north along with the seniors and will be operating in the premier Division playing many of their league encounters as the curtain raiser to the seniors. Johnny McErlaine wears the Bainisteoirs bib down the lane at Dreen for his beloved club once more; Cathal Cowan, Tom Lynch and Cathal McMullan form a formidable back room team.

St.Mary’s Hurling management has a fresh look about it also, Paul McFerran moves from co-pilot into the driving seat this season following the departure of Gregory O’Kane and he will be ably assisted by another Rasharkin Gael Dan McKay. Paul and Dan helped consolidate Division 3 league status last year and will be seeking a higher ranking come September.

Thomas McMullan remains at the helm looking after St.Mary’s Camogs, who are steadily improving, they have a good influx of young players making their debut this season and will be hoping to land Junior honours in the summer. Thomas will be assisted along the sidelines at Dreen by Pauline Quigg and Daniel Hasson.
