Rasharkin set the pace with Duathlon
21st June 2013

St.Mary’s Rasharkin got their Annual Fun weekend off to a magnificent start following the huge attendance of their first ever Duathlon, 10K race, 25K Cycle and 5K Fun Run. In conjunction with St.Mary’s Healthy Club launch, over one hundred and thirty competitors turned out to run, cycle and walk, with all proceedings going towards the club’s Feile fund.

This initiate follows the club’s Biggest Loser competition which created much enthusiasm around Rasharkin earlier this year. The healthy lifestyle campaign is growing momentum throughout the village and indeed the county as participants came from as far as Belfast, Ballycastle and Larne would suggest. This event was greatly supported by locals and from many neighbouring clubs such as Portglenone, Dunloy, Ahoghill, Creggan, Kilrea, Lavey and Greenlough.

The club wishes to thank all competitors who attended this event, the organisers, time keepers, water carriers and route marshals.
