St.Mary's Rasharkin Annual Dinner Dance 2015

St. Mary’s Rasharkin held their Annual Dinner Dance at the Elk Toome on Friday past with all guests, members, players and friends of St.Mary’s enjoying a good evenings’ entertainment.

 

A power point presentation showing a collaboration of the various photographs taken throughout the past year was shown on three screens throughout the function room.

 

Club vice Chairman Thomas Doherty was an excellent compere for the evening, keeping proceedings running smoothly throughout with his unique facts and confident charm.

 

Club Chairman Michael Hardy addressed the gathering after dinner and spoke of the achievements off the field and the hardships on the field of the club in the past twelve months. He paid particular tribute to the Book committee following the launch of the definitive club history book and also to all involved in the club recently receiving a Club Maith Accreditation. He went on to thanks his fellow officers, committee, players, mentors and members for their work throughout the year and wished all good luck for the incoming season. Michael finished by thanking the many unsung heroes throughout St.Mary’s, the people who carry out many unseen but essential tasks, he said "they may be small cogs but greatly improve the efficiency of a system, the club is indebted to these volunteers such as groundsmen, umpires, linesmen, referees, ticket sellers, event caterers, organisers, coaches, helpers and club administrators”.   

 

Bio la Chéile then provided the entertainment for the remainder of the evening.

Junior Feis Football trophy presented by Danny McLernon to Junior Football Captain John Henderson

 

Club Chairman Michael Hardy presents the McKillop Family Shield for most successful Juvenile team to Patrick Kennedy who accepts on behalf of the minor football team and management.

 

John McAuley accepts an award in recognition of dedication and service to St.Mary’s GAC on behalf of Dominic O’Neill from Club Chairman Michael Hardy.

 

Katherina Walls accepts most improved Camog award on behalf of Megan McFerran from Camogie Manager Thomas McMullan.

 

The Anthony MacMullan Memorial Cup for most improved hurler is presented by Michael Hasson to Donagh Quigg

   

The Christy Hardy Memorial trophy for most improved footballer is presented by Stephen Hardy to John Henderson who accepts on behalf of Pearce Kelly

 

Reserve footballer of the year is presented by Reserve Football manger Cathal Cowan to Brian Cowan who accepts on behalf of his brother Charlie.

 

The Ciara McLaughlin Memorial Cup for Camog of the year is presented by Camogie Manager Pauline Quigg to Shariffa O'Kane

 

The Eugene Gribben Memorial trophy for Hurler of the Year is presented by Hannah Gribben to Thomas McMullan who accepts on behalf of Declan McKay

 

The Gerry Dalrymple Memorial Cup for Senior Footballer of the year is presented by Danny McLernon to Cahir O'Kane

 

The Dan Doherty Memorial Cup for Club Person of the year this year went to Thomas Doherty; Mary Francis Doherty presents her brother with the trophy.

 

Ulster Vice President Michael Hasson presents Club Chairman Michael Hardy with the Gold Club Maith Award, which St.Mary’s recently achieved.
